History

FinFiles is a Utrecht based company, that specializes in data management and client reporting in the financial branch. We focus on registered funds in the Netherlands. FinFiles was founded in 2004, starting as a more general online marketing agency for the financial branch. As our core business has always involved online presence for financials -specifically those intensively working with mutual funds-, information management has become an increasingly important element of our business. In the past seven years we have continued to build, optimize and manage a PDF database for legal fund documentation. From these activities, Fondsinformatie.nl, which in 2008 was to become Fondsnieuws.nl, originated. Fondsnieuws is now a separately run business, launched by FD Mediagroep, Cees van Lotringen and Jasper Staring. FinFiles still plays an important role as the preferred IT and marketing partner.

Main activities

We focus on data publishing issues, whether for internal or external use - or both. We find that publishing data itself doesn't make a client stand out, it is how we enrich the data environment with knowledge and ease of use that makes the difference. This process may include tailored advise, design and implementation of a database or -warehouse, linking with third party data vendors, developing webportals and software for client reporting. We strongly believe in a mix of external and internal information and research. To flexibly combine these, we build a tailor-made database with a content management system for each of our clients. This database will then serve as the source for each application used to publish to web.
